NYFW 2017: Spring Trends
1 year ago 0 Comments
Stripes, Stripes, Stripes!
A lot of variations of striped patterns seemed to grace the runways this year. No complaints on my end, as I find I am often drawn to simplistic striped patterns year after year. Designers really played with this classic – they weren’t just your everyday stripes! Some were vertical, horizontal, diagonal (or a mix of more than one angle in a single outfit). There was also a lot of play on colour. I cannot wait to add some creative pieces that incorporate this element to my wardrobe this season. Although I will be wearing stripes regardless of the seasonal trends, I daresay I am quite looking forward to seeing what stores have to offer along these lines – no pun intended!
Cold Shoulder (Just one!)
There seemed to be a lot of single-shoulder cutouts this year. I have been a huge fan of the typical cold shoulder look (two shoulders uncovered) and look forward to rocking the one-shoulder variant of it. It is edgy and sexy, yet still not showy and I love that, as my personal style is typically more modest.
White Shirt Dress
The white shirt dress made quite an appearance this year. Designers took this outfit basic and brought it to a whole new level. They played with hemlines, while adding interesting detailing turning a classic into something far from regular!
Would you consider adding any of these looks into your closet this season? Maybe you already have some pieces sitting around that will fit right in. Whatever you choose, always put on something that you are comfortable in that reflects you in some sense. All of the things you could be wearing – true confidence looks the best.
