In honour of Canada Day 150 coming up this weekend, I wanted to share with you some of my absolute favourite Canadian brands!
Roots Canada Ltd
Is it super cliché to mention Roots in a Canada Day post? Founded in 1973 it is still run by the founders Michael Budman and Don Green with their design centre and leather factory located in Toronto, Ontario. This year I really wanted to rock my Canuck pride and buy one of their Canada tees. I think everyone else had the same idea because they were nearly sold out everywhere! Nonetheless, I encourage you to head over to your nearest Roots location to pick up something patriotic for the long-weekend. Anything Roots is super classic anyway, so you do not have to limit yourself to just wearing it on Canada Day.
P.S. There were still some sizes left of this tee at the Kitchener, Fairview Park Mall location when I went less than two days ago!
I first was introduced to this label 10 years ago and have added many jackets to my collection from them since then. Originally starting in Montreal they are now a global brand. They are the sister company to Mackage, and always release such stunning silhouettes that range from classic, to quirky. I am impressed by the quality and find myself wearing each piece season after season. I do not have to sacrifice style for comfort and practicality and I love that!
Hailing from Toronto, Bite Beauty was founded by Susanne Langmuir. They pride themselves in using food-grade ingredients to create natural, well-performing lip products. I have one of their buttery lipsticks in Salut (a perfect nude for my skin tone) along with their Agave Lip Balm $20 to sooth dry, cracked lips. Sometimes I put it on overnight and in the morning my lips are ready to face the day ahead without all the flaking! I find winter is the biggest culprit for this. You can purchase Bite Beauty products in a wide range of colours at Sephora or Sephora.com. If you are ever in Toronto be sure to book an appointment and drop by their lip lab to get a customized lipstick made just for you!
