Review: Quick + Easy, No Fuss Makeup for New Moms
1 month ago 0 Comments
There’s a new baby in the house and let’s face it – doing your makeup is not at the top of the priority list! Thanks to Quo and Joe Fresh, there are some quick (and cute) options for products that make you look like maybe you just might have had a full night’s sleep (ha ha)! Oh and with all the added baby expenses you’ll be glad to hear that they are budget-friendly as well!
There are a lot of days my eyes are the last I think about putting makeup on – but definitely a bit of plumping mascara like this one from Joe Fresh ($10), really opens them up to make you look more awake. Sometimes if I want to add a bit of dimension I will sweep a light brown shadow over just the lid with a lighter shade highlighting it a little in the middle. There are a ton of options in this gorgeous, neutral Joe Fresh Eye Shadow Palette ($14). Liquid eyeliner just along the lash line can help complete this look – which altogether works well for me and takes only a few seconds!
This Quo Concealer Palette ($19) is perfect to stretch for a natural, yet polished look. I love putting some concealer under my eyes and then dabbing it where there is a bit of redness before blending. You do not need a lot – and this product in particular is nice because it gives you 4 different skin tone options! I also love Joe Fresh’s Blush Stick ($10) – you can easily take it with you when you are on the go for a quick lively flush. The colour I have is called Peach Dream and it is a coral shade with little gold flecks in it – perfect for the apples of the cheeks. You simply put a little bit on your face in a small circular motion and softly blend!
You can polish your skin off with the Quo Radial Blur Translucent Powder ($18) – which is perfect over makeup or on bare skin! It is designed to soften light reflecting off your face, giving semi-matte coverage.
Ahh lips – often my favourite feature to work with and so effortless! I am head over heels for Joe Fresh Tinted Lip Balm in Grapefruit ($12)! It smells like bubblegum mixed with melon in my opinion and goes on sheer with a hint of pink sheen. Joe Fresh also makes fantastic matte lipsticks. They glide on smoothly and do not appear cakey. My favourite one is Smitten ($10) – which reminds me a lot of one of my go-to lipsticks by Mac, called Snob.
All these can be purchased at your local Shoppers Drug Mart – let me know your thoughts on what your go-to mommy beauty products are!
