My Botanical Baby Room Reveal

Amidst everything else going on I managed to finish our baby room with plenty of time to spare. It is now one of my favourite spaces in the house! When it comes to decor in general I am not overly feminine. I love my neutrals…and plants. I love plants.

Prior to beginning decorating, the room was my office. After realizing life was about to change drastically we moved my desk to a different area of our house. You can read about it here.

I soon got to work on creating the perfect, serene space for baby. In all honesty, it was more for me – as I wanted it to be somewhere I enjoyed spending oodles of time in. Do you really think my newborn cares one little bit about what his toy box looks like?

I wanted to incorporate my love of nature into it and felt that the Woods wallpaper by Cole & Son was the perfect fit. We tinted the paint on the rest of the walls to match the background of the wallpaper and keep everything coherent.

Nothing says cozy like a sheepskin rug – am I right?

baby room

My mom insisted on gifting me this rocking chair she purchased at an antique market. At first I wasn’t sure about it, but now I love how it adds to the welcoming and simple vibe of the room. She also crocheted the throw seen slung over the back of it.

changing table

I purchased a dresser second-hand to use as a change station. When baby J grows older it will grow with him as it has plenty of storage and is timeless!

The floating shelf above the dresser was a must! I stacked a few of my favourite books, along with a piece of driftwood I collected from the beach this year that I planted succulents in.

It’s all in the details! I love layering smaller rugs in one space.

There you have it! A room for baby J. These photos are of it tidy but I can assure you that currently there is laundry everywhere and it looks like a whirlwind hit it. Ah, mommy life! Thanks for taking the tour – let me know your thoughts in the comments below or via email
