Recent House Projects

I must admit being a stay-at-home mom is much different than I anticipated! I have found that while baby is sleeping, rather than “sleep when he sleeps” I like to do house projects. The creative me is still very much alive and I figure that with this new life transition I can channel some time into adding more of what I love into our habitat. Below are a few new projects I have been working on.
Nearly a year ago I posted about my minimalist bedroom refresh. After the initial painting of the walls I did not really do much to it until last week. I decided to buy a floating LACK shelf from Ikea along with a few plants I had really wanted. My husband installed the shelf that night and here you have it. I still am on the look out for pots for them but for now this will do. I am especially all about the clean air with baby J around and he sleeps in our bedroom.
Accessories for the Nursery
If there is one thing I have not done much of, it’s buy accessories for the baby or his room. Yes I have it decorated but not much in the way of cute toys. A friend told me about a company called The Wild that creates super cute apparel and toys for babies and kids. I picked up this adorable Pip the Porcupine plush and he is a welcome addition to my woodsy theme. This little critter will love his new home! He is also super high contrast and interesting in the eyes of a 3 month old.
Family Photo Wall Grouping
My house has loads of art in it but I do not have one photo of us displayed anywhere except for the few tucked away at the side of my fridge, secured by magnets! I thought it was time to proudly frame and hang up some of the beautiful photos we have had taken throughout the years of us as a couple, our precious dog Bandit and of course our newest addition. I am still working on it, but purchased some frames from Ikea to get started. These photos will add a homey touch to our environment.
Teepee Tent Play Area
For those of you who read my previous post you know that I recently purchased a Teepee Tent for baby J to play in as he gets older. I love it because it feels like we are camping (but are away from the harsh elements). Someone mentioned that it was more like “glamping!” I don’t know how glamorous raising a baby is but I guess you could say it’s a version of it? No bugs, no bears, no soil (although I do love all three).
