Christmas Tree Farm

Christmas Tree Cutting Day: A Family Tradition

For the past 4 years our tight-knit friend group has visited a tree farm to cut down a tree. This was baby J’s first year joining us! I always get so stoked for an excuse to take him to the countryside.

The whole family bundled up, although this weekend the weather was very moderate! Merry Farms in Hamilton, ON had great selection. My husband and I chose to not get a tree this year but of course had to come along for the experience as the rest of the crew picked out theirs. I shared a bit about our experience last year in this post here. We actually skipped out on the cutting part then as well (haha). It has something to do with the needles permanently embedding themselves into our shag rug! Next December I think we will cut one again. I really miss it, even if it’s messy!

It was SUPER busy with a lineup of cars to get in – this must be THE weekend to get your tree? There was absolutely no way of me getting photos that did not have crowds of people in the background so bare with me if this post is a little more cluttered than usual!

Our stroller got muddy but hey – a little dirt never hurt anyone! Baby J cried at first and then was lulled to sleep by the fresh air and the bumpy ride.

I am really thrilled to celebrate Christmas this year with our new family member. He has been the biggest gift for us all – my heart is full! I would love to hear any of your holiday traditions that you hold dear to your heart – please share in the comments below!

That’s a great tradition! As J gets older he will love picking out the tree with you!
