5 Homemade Natural Beauty Recipes That Work Like Store-Bought Products

While I am not against store-bought products, I often like to try natural alternatives for things because they are healthy, budget-friendly and often equally as effective! Today I hit my kitchen and share a few extremely simple recipes to achieve glowing results!

Coconut Oil

Natural Makeup Remover + Moisturizer

Its no secret that coconut oil has many uses! One of my favourites is using it as makeup remover. A little goes a long way! You also can use it to hydrate those dry flaky areas in the winter. Add a small drop of your favourite essential oil for scent. One of my top picks is Young Living’s Tangerine Oil. It is said to boost immunity which would make sense with all of that Vitamin C!

Yogurt Mask

Face Mask

Why not feed your skin with the good stuff you feed your body with? A plain, greek yogurt high in probiotics is not only a refreshing substitute for a store-bought face mask but also makes your skin super smooth, nourished and glowing. If you would like to exfoliate beforehand I suggest honey mixed with some brown sugar and gently scrub in a circular motion.

Smooth Skin

I didn’t quite know how to make a bottle of regular, virgin olive oil look nice in a photo (haha) so instead I will just write about it. If you add a small amount of olive oil to your bath and swish it around, you will find your skin to be silky smooth when you get out! To make your bath extra luxurious and get your dose of magnesium (our body absorbs it best through the skin) add some Epsom salt to it.

Teeth Whitening

Now this is something I am planning to try regularly this year – I have heard time and time again that rubbing the inside of a banana peel against your teeth will work to naturally whiten them! I cannot wait – because while other whitening alternatives work fine, I find they make me teeth extra sensitive and it isn’t worth it for me!

A natural beauty recipe for hair would be to wash it with fresh cracked, raw eggs. Lather it around, then rinse with a mix of apple cider vinegar and water until squeaky clean! If you find your ends are dry put a little bit of coconut oil on them. Do not spread the oil throughout as it will leave your hair very stringy!
