Musings of a Millennial Turning 30

Hello Babes! Well – this is it, I’ve officially hit the big 3-0. Scary? Not at all! Although, I simply cannot believe how much the time has flown. When people would tell me that it goes faster the older you get I didn’t believe them!
I was told by a dear friend of mine that turning 50 is a very liberating age. It might be safe to say that 30, for me is somewhere along those lines. My 20’s were a decade of self-discovery in which I feel like know myself better than I ever have. I look forward to seeing where I will be 20 years from now!
While I was told that one can hit a bit of a slump with the shock of the turning of a decade, I find it a cause for celebration! I have been blessed to live 30 years so far, full of lessons, amazing souls and personal growth. Sure it’s a little strange to no longer think of myself as a 20-something but I love how I am old enough to remember life without smart phones, internet in my home and social media! I recall the days when owning a fax machine was a really big deal, and a digital camera – wow that was something else!
Myself, along with many others in my generation got to see the times change drastically. We are building businesses, lives, empires. We can relate to both the old and the new. We empathize with those fondly reminiscing about our past, pre-internet culture yet we are the creators of the future.
Here I am — a wife, mother, artist and writer. I get to raise a beautiful baby boy to have a heart for others. To enjoy giving more than taking. To love without conditions. To value people over things. Yes, I am 30 and exactly where I want to be.
